Bad news for 2014 Harley-Davidson Touring and CVO-Touring motorcycles with ABS installed, as the Bar & Shield brand has issued a recall with the NHTSA for 66,421 motorcycles that could potentially see their front-wheel lockup unexpectedly during normal operation.
The problem comes about because the affected motorcycles may have been assembled with the front brake line positioned in such a way that it could be pinched between the fuel tank and frame, causing the front brake fluid pressure to increase. If the fluid pressure does increase, it could cause the front wheel to lockup, and possibly cause a crash. To-date, five such crashes have occurred, with thankfully only minor injuries being reported.
To address the situation, Harley-Davidson has issued recalls on all FLHTK, FLHTKSE, FLHTKSHRINE, FLHTCU, FLHTCUTC, FLHTP, FLHX, FLHXS, FLHXSHRINE, FLHR, FLHRC, FLHP, and FLHRSE models built between July 1st, 2013 and May 7th, 2014.
Harley-Davidson will notify affected owners, and Harley-Davidson dealers will inspect the motorcycles for brake line damage and replace the damaged lines as necessary. Dealers will also install one or two cable straps to properly prevent the line from being pinched in the future, free of charge.
The recall is expected to begin July 2014. Concerned owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464; and as always, the NHTSA is also available at 1-888-327-4236 and safercar.gov.

Il n'y a pas de motard complet qui n'ai possédé un jour une HD, c'est une étape obligatoire. Enfin, c'est ce qui se dit mais je ne regrette pas d'avoir le Fat au garage, c'est .......... différent.
